Carlos Menéndez Martínez

Carlos Menéndez graduated in Law from the University of Barcelona (1989).

Since 1990 he has been a practising lawyer specialising in administrative and environmental law. During this time he has intervened in a host of issues, all of which have been related to this branch of law, and a special emphasis should be given to his intervention in matters related to water law. He is the author of various publications on the subject, and his teaching experience includes lecturing on environmental law at the University of Barcelona, Pompeu Fabra University (Master’s degree course in Land, Urban Development and Environmental Law), the University of Lleida and the Institut Químic de Sarrià (IQS). He has presented papers in numerous conferences and congresses related to environmental law, such as the National Congress on Environmental Law (Congreso Nacional de Derecho Ambiental -CONAMA) and the Congress of Ecological Waterways (Congrés de Cabals Ecològics). In addition, he has maintained an intense level of activity in the Barcelona Bar Association, being Chairman of the Environmental Law Section from 2002 to 2006. He is a member of the Environmental and Administrative Law Sections of the Barcelona Bar Association.

In 2014 he has been recognized by Chambers & Partners and Who's Who Legal as one of the renowned lawyers in environmental law. This recognition must be added to the one he already received in previous editions.
